Description
GS++ was designed to replace a legacy system, GS, and allows VW buyers to source quotes for new parts, and to place orders with suppliers. eTrack is a new system designed to track engineering changes, and the two year process from conceptualisation, design and approval of a new part, through procurement, to testing and eventual incorporation into the production line.
The system has been in production since January 2003. VW has entered into a maintenance contract with Alchemy for the years 2004-6, and ongoing enhancements are still being specified by the users and integrated into the system. The time and therefore monetary savings on every part enquiry process have exceeded expectations.
