The Learn2Drive3D website is up! Although we're still hard at work on the application itself, we've wanted for some time to put up the website, so we can start to share what we're doing with learner drivers and invite them to participate in the process.
Learn2Drive3D is a "K53 on a disc" kit - a tool to learn for both your learner's and driver's licenses. It covers
- rules of the road
- road signs, traffic signals and road markings
- vehicle controls
- K53 driving procedures for the road and yard tests
Based on the latest syllabus from the Department of Transport, the procedures are clearly demonstrated in various 3D worlds, built with state of the art 3D game rendering technologies. Learners can test themselves on all sections using formal "Traffic Department" type tests, or more informal quizzes.
The idea behind the website is to allow a platform for community collaboration around Learn2Drive3D - we're seeking out future users' views so we can build the application they'd want to use. We're also generating interest and allowing users to pre-order the disc.
There has been a lot of interest in Learn2Drive3D from potential sponsors who recognise what a powerful and innovative platform for exposure the product is, and there is opportunity for driving-related businesses to list in the Learn2Drive3D directories, or to be represented in the 3D world.
Visit the site for more info, including screenshots and video clips from the app, as well as to pre-order or stand the chance to win free driving lessons!
